Week of Thanksgiving!

Dearest 3C Parents,

I was so impressed with how the students did in the concert yesterday.  Mrs. Kaye always puts on such a wonderful show and the third graders did a fabulous job.  I hope you all had a wonderful time and are recovering from what I am sure was a later night than usual!  Next week is Thanksgiving- I can hardly believe we are already at this point in the school year.  I am so thankful for my wonderful students, families, and colleagues here at Archway Arete.  Next week is a 2-day week!  Below you can find the information about what you can expect next week.

Best,

Mrs. Bowers

A Look in the Classroom

  1. Language Arts: We will be using this week for review of phonograms and past spelling words. You will not see any spelling homework come home and there will be no spelling test. In Grammar we will be reviewing parts of speech and practice letter writing. We will also refine our comprehension skills by reading an article about the first Thanksgiving.
  2. History: This week students will start to learn about Roman society, including the roles of patricians and plebeians within the Roman Republic. We will examine the Roman dictator, particularly how our virtues relate to what this society wanted in its rulers, and how the word "dictator" has evolved over time.
  3. Math: Students will continue their review of multiplication facts, finishing their 9's on Monday and reviewing facts 6-9 in a class review on Tuesday.
  4. Science: Science:  On Monday we will take out quiz on the human skeleton.  Please have students review the study guide that we created in class.  Additionally, please use this quizlet link to help students review: https://quizlet.com/168059610/human-skeleton-flash-cards/ . We will also continue to create our model of the human skeleton next week.
