Quarter 4 Week 9

Dear 3C Families,

I hope you all enjoyed a relaxing weekend and a happy Mother's Day!  I can not believe we have reached this point in the school year.  As we enter the last two weeks of school I am reflecting on how lucky I am to have been able to work with the amazing students in 3C this year.  These kids have endured a lot of change this year and they have handled all of it beautifully. I feel truly blessed to have had the opportunity to work with Mrs. Chilson, Coach Warren, Mrs. Mathot, and Mrs. Cardinal this year.  Each of these educators have touched the hearts of my students this year and I am so happy to have had them as part of our classroom community this year.

Thank you all so much for everything last week.  Teacher Appreciation Week at Arete is always magical!  Between the delicious lunches, sweet cards, pretty flowers, and generous gifts I definitely felt appreciated.  Arete's parents are one of a kind!

Please reach out with anything you may need or have questions about as we finish out the year.

Best,

Mrs. Bowers

Language Arts: We continue Little House this week by reading Ch. 23-25. Spelling will be normal with ten words per day. Jimmy Jet and his TV Set will be recited the last Wednesday of the school year. For writing, we are revising and editing our Planet Essays.

Science:  To wrap up our Astronomy Unit we are going to be learning about Mae Jemison, the first African-American woman in space. We will be reading her biography and writing an essay on why she is a good role model!

History: We will be doing an in-class colony project this week! The students will each choose one of the 13 colonies, research it, write a paragraph and fun facts about it, put together a poster, then present it next week. This is all being done in class!
