Dear 3C Parents,

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend!  Here is an update on week 3 of the 4th quarter.

Language Arts: We will have a 20 word Spalding list with our test being on Thursday as Friday is a half day. We're reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and everyone is enchanted with the book so far. in grammar will will be reviewing clauses and classifying sentences.

Math: During the third week, students start the week by being assessed on time and multiplication properties. They will then have an opportunity to consider area and measurements. 

Science: During the third week, students will be exploring the moon by reading part of an eBook created by the National Science Teachers Association. We will have a quiz on Wednesday over previous material, and we will discuss and make observations about eclipses on Friday.

History:  This week we will continue our exploration of the original 13 colonies.  We will be learning more about Jamestown and the Virginia colony.  We will be learning more about the real story of Pocahontas which coincides nicely with our current poem.  We will be discussing cash crops and their role in the Southern Colonies.  Additionally, we will be creating a timeline of pictures for the important events in this unit! 

Quizzes and Tests:
Monday: Math (Time)
Wednesday: Science (Space)

Thursday: Spalding
